Review by Annika Breesch

Jerry Harrison's album Casual Gods is a masterpiece that showcases his exceptional musical talent. The album, released in 1988, features a unique blend of rock, pop, and funk influences that make it stand out from the crowd.

The opening track, "Rev It Up," sets the tone for the album with its upbeat tempo and catchy guitar riffs. The album continues to impress with tracks like "Man With a Gun" and "I Cry for Iran," which showcase Harrison's ability to write thought-provoking lyrics that resonate with listeners.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Red Nights," which features a haunting melody and powerful vocals. The song's lyrics tell a story of passion and desire that is both captivating and emotional.

Oh man, never seen the video but played this song to death on the Something wild soundtrack. Unbelieveable that an amazingly looking video like this could be shot in the mid 80s. Looks like it was 10 years ahead of its time! Wonderful.

I happened to tape this song listening to 97X in 1990. That was a great mix tape, and so my buddy borrowed it, never to be seen again. The Heads are awesome in the Stop Making Sense movie, this man rocking guitar and keyboards.

Never heard this song until recently, but it sounds so 80s (in a very good way!) it took me right back to 1988!

Jerry's 3 solo albums are diamonds in the rough. The musicians he uses on all of them are incredible as well. I prefer the first one (The Red and The Black) but they are all underrated masterpieces and hard to find.
